Who this course is for

This course is for colleagues who are, or may be, involved in the recruitment and selection process.

It will give you the skills and confidence to effectively deal with recruitment and selection matters in line with current organisational practices and recognised best practice.

If you are going to be on a recruiting panel, you must complete this course.

What you will learn

On this participative workshop we will consider:

• the importance of the Person Specification throughout the recruitment process
• how to use criteria to shortlist candidates for interview
• how to develop effective questions and structure an interview
• how to assess performance and select the preferred candidate.

How the course is delivered

A blended approach to delivery, which includes:

• trainer-led online and interactive workshop
• interactive e-learning
• group work activities.

The workshop is delivered online through MS Teams and takes three hours to complete.

Before the workshop

You must complete these elearning modules, as they cover part of the course content which will not be discussed during the workshop:

• Equality and diversity in recruitment and selection (on iLearn)
• Recruitment with virtual interviews (on iLearn)

You must complete these modules before you submit a nomination form. You will not be added to the waiting list or invited to attend a workshop until you have completed this e-learning module.

You will only be considered to have completed this course, once you have completed both the elearning courses and online workshop.

• Wednesday 14th May 2025, 9.30am-12.30pm
• Wednesday 11th June 2025, 1.30pm-4.30pm
