Want to learn more about our organisation? RenTalks is a series of virtual learning sessions, bringing you key insights from different people across the council and our partners.

Join us for around 40 minutes on Microsoft Teams for these friendly sessions where you will hear from and interact with our expert speakers and get the low down on lots of helpful topics.

With sessions on everything from the major priorities of the day, our council vision and values, the future of our digital experience, to taking care of our wellbeing, there's plenty to spark your interest.

RenTalks Series 3

This series kicks off in May 2022 and offers a mix of sessions for all staff and managers. Topics include employee benefits, learning at work, website accessibility and internal communications.

Look out for your invitations coming straight to your email inbox soon. Just accept the meeting invite and the session will be added to your calendar.

Help to cope with rising energy bills
Thursday 31 March, 12pm - 12.40pm

Social renewal officer Diane Dunn from our Partnerships and Inequalities team will start this session with a short introduction to the support available for Renfrewshire Council staff for help taking care of your financial wellbeing. We will then hear from Angela Mather at the Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau (RCAB) who will talk to us about the support available at RCAB and share some top tips on how to save money and effectively lower your energy bills to help you minimise the impact of rising costs.
The session will then be opened up for discussion when you can speak to Angela and her colleague, energy advisor Robert McGirr and ask them questions. Lynne Kerr from our Advice Works service and Diane Dunn will also be available to chat about benefits and where to access other supports.

Cyber crime and online safety in a modern world 
Friday 25 March, 2pm-2.40pm

Join Cyber Security Architect Carol Peters as she explains why it's so important that everyone knows how to stay safe online. She'll share tips on how to spot the threats and dangers to your information and identity when using the internet and what you can do to protect yourself. You can then take the opportunity to ask Carol any questions and take part in the discussion.
Carol's previous RenTalk on 'How to spot a phish' is one of our mandatory iLearn courses. Attendance at the new upcoming session will count as completion of that course, meaning you won't have to do the original course on iLearn if you come along on the day.

Relaxation and stress management
As a Team Builder, Confidence Coach and Firewalk Instructor, Lesley Rodgers has over 20 years' experience and a wealth of knowledge in wellbeing and stress management. Lesley has previously hosted relaxation sessions for her colleagues in Customer Services and received excellent feedback. Now she wants to help you by sharing some of her knowledge and a short but effective relaxation technique to help you unwind.

Bringing Our Values to life: training and support
Join our HR & Organisational Development team to preview the training modules designed to help you put our values into practice. Find out where we are in our values journey and what's covered in the new 'Living Our Values' module. Take a look at the support in place to help managers embed our values at the 'Leading Our Values' training and follow-up workshop. It's a great opportunity to ask questions, develop your values knowledge and join in some interactive examples.

Global crisis, local action - how Renfrewshire is trying to tackle the climate emergency
Want to know more about the climate emergency and what Renfrewshire Council is doing to play its part? To coincide with COP26, catch up with Pauline Moss and Roz Smith from the Chief Executive's Service who will give an overview of why global warming has become an emergency, why the Council declared a climate emergency in 2019, what this means for employees and residents, and invite you to give your own views about priorities, opportunities and what you'd love to see the Council doing more (or less!) of.
