Parking at Renfrewshire House
As more of us return to the office, for at least part of our working week, the demand for car parking at Renfrewshire House is increasing, particularly on certain days, namely Tuesday - Thursday.
To address this a group of staff from across the council are looking at how we will operate the car park moving forward. Our approach will need to reflect our ambitions to become a net zero organisation by 2030 and will potentially include the reintroduction of a charging policy, the details of which are being discussed, and will be shared well in advance of it being introduced.
For the time being, the car park will continue to operate on a first come, first served basis, and our facilities management colleagues will be working at the barriers to understand and assess who is currently using the car park. Those who do not have automatic access will be able to access the car park, if there are spaces available, by pressing the buzzer and speaking to a member of the team.
No council employee is guaranteed a space within the Renfrewshire House car park apart from those with spaces under agreed leases. When the car park is full, we ask that you find an alternative parking space, out with the car park.
One nearby alternative if the car park is full, is Saucel St car park. It has 65 spaces, is a short walk (behind Mecca Bingo) from Renfrewshire House, and for the time being parking here (Monday to Friday) is free of charge for all council employees.
If you are using the car park at Renfrewshire House please remember:
- electric charging bays are for electric cars only
- not to double park or abandon in non-dedicated parking bays
- do not drive round the "car park is full" sign and enter the car park regardless
- not to use your pass to raise barrier for colleagues or friends.
And please be respectful and treat colleagues the way you would like to be treated.
