Appointment of new Director for Children's Services

Following a recruitment process, Janie O'Neill, current Head of Education at North Lanarkshire Council, has been appointed as our new Director of Children's Services.

Headshot of Janie O'Neill Janie is Chief Officer of Education (South) in Education and Families Service in North Lanarkshire and has worked in North Lanarkshire since 2004, first as Depute Head Teacher at Dalziel High in Motherwell, then as Head Teacher at Coatbridge High from 2011 until taking up her current post in 2019.

Chief Executive Alan Russell said: "I am pleased to announce Janie's appointment today. She brings a wide range of experience ranging from the classroom to Chief Officer and I look forward to welcoming her to Renfrewshire when she arrives."

Subject to the appointment process, it is hoped she will be able to take up her post before the end of this year.
