What the consultation is

We’re developing our priorities for the next 5 to 10 years with our new Council Plan and Community Plan

These plans affect everything from local services and community priorities to how we work with partners to improve our health and wellbeing, our local economy and education, and our environment.

To help shape these, we’re carrying out a joint public engagement programme with Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership until the end of November 2026. This is called ‘Your Voice Matters’.

We’re engaging with residents, local groups, businesses, partners, and our employees. This is so we can listen to your views, priorities, experiences, and what your community needs.

The views and feedback you provide will inform and shape the decisions we take about our future priorities and local services in Renfrewshire.

Why we want to hear your views

We’re committed to getting things right for our communities and caring for those who need our support most.

But we face significant challenges, including financial pressures, a changing population, and rising demand for services.

Because money is limited, we must make difficult choices, such as:

  • deciding what’s most important
  • finding new ways to deliver services
  • spending money where it makes the biggest difference
  • working closely with communities and partners to help make these choices.

We now want to hear your views to help shape our priorities for the next 5 to 10 years and make fairer and better decisions for Renfrewshire’s future.

We want to understand:

  • what matters most to you
  • what works well in your community
  • what could be done differently
  • where we should focus our money.

Who can share their views

Renfrewshire is your place and we want your views to help shape it – Your Voice Matters.

We want to hear from our:

  • residents
  • employees
  • local groups
  • businesses
  • partners.

How to share your views

This consultation phase closes on Monday 30 November 2026.

Online

Other ways to share your views

We’ll be speaking with people who live and work in Renfrewshire during our summer events.

We’ll also host in-person sessions with different audiences later in 2026, including families and children, local businesses, community groups, and the cultural sector to discuss the themes and topics which are important to them.

What happens next

Once we’ve completed the public engagement programme, we’ll analyse all the feedback we've gathered.

The feedback we gather will help inform our new Council Plan, Community Plan, and Integration Joint Board (IJB) Strategic Plan.

We’ll publish the findings in a report for our residents, businesses, and partners in the new year.

More information

During 2025, we carried out research with Renfrewshire residents to find out how you feel about where you live, the services we provide, and changes that could be made to our services in the future. See the full outcomes of our resident research

Your feedback shaped this year’s (2026 to 2027) budget priorities and the Your Voice Matters public engagement programme that we’re now carrying out.
