Basic digital skills course for staff

Who the basic digital skills course is for, what you will learn, when and where the courses are on, how to apply for a place.

This course is for Council staff with limited or no digital skills, who want to learn the basics of using a computer.

What you will learn:

  • How we interact with IT, for example by keyboard, finger, stylus, mouse, voice or biometrics.
  • What the internet, email and logging on and logging off are.
  • What a web browser or a computer virus is.
  • How to search and browse the internet safely.
  • How to fill out a form in a web browser.
  • What cloud computing is.
  • How to create and save a document.
  • What uploading and downloading are.
  • How to search and retrieve a document or record.
  • Basics of joining a call in Microsoft Teams.
  • Where you can learn more.

This one-day course is delivered by West College Scotland at their Paisley campus.
