What the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils is

A community council is a group of local people who volunteer to help improve the area they live in and the public services they use.

The Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils describes:

  • how community councils in Renfrewshire are formed
  • the conditions under which community councils operate
  • the minimum standards that must be met for recognition as a community council.

We are currently reviewing our Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.


Share your views

As part of this review, we are asking community councils in Renfrewshire, and anyone who is interested, to share your views on the Draft Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.
