Travel Renfrewshire 2035

We are developing a new strategy called Travel Renfrewshire 2035.

It will detail our local transport and travel priorities over the next 10 years.

Transport consultants AECOM are helping to develop the strategy to complement the regional strategy by SPT and the national strategy by Transport Scotland.

It will support making Renfrewshire a great place to live, work and visit and help us to meet our responsibilities to:

  • Make bus and train journeys more accessible
  • Support Scottish targets to travel less by car
  • Encourage more walking, wheeling and cycling
  • Protect the environment
  • Reduce carbon emissions and work towards net zero

We are working in a financially challenging period, so we need to choose the changes which make the biggest difference for every pound we spend locally.

Consultation and engagement

AECOM are carrying out consultation and engagement to shape the final strategy.

The first phase of stakeholder engagement took place during May and June 2024.

We will be sharing the draft strategy and a report on the environmental impacts by 2025.
