Renfrewshire Council

Colleagues recognised for procurement best practice

Congratulations to our procurement colleagues for achieving top marks in their recent national assessment.

Thanks to their hard work and collaboration with colleagues and teams from across the council, the team achieved the top mark of 'Advanced Practice', in all 11 categories of their Procurement & Commercial Improvement Programme (PCIP) assessment.

The assessment was completed by Scotland Excel, who praised the professional manner in which the team approached the assessment and for the preparation and quality of evidence provided by the team.

Christine McCourt, Head of Finance and Procurement, said: "Achieving Advanced Practice in all levels is a great achievement for the Council and a reflection of the hard work, commitment and continuing professional approach of the Procurement team."

About PCIP

PCIP assessments occur every three years for each public procurement sector in Scotland and provides a means of measuring and reporting on the procurement and commercial capability of organisations.

The programme is designed to support and encourage the continuous improvement of procurement and commercial practices.

Once the other 31 councils have completed their assessments, a series of workshops will be arranged, and given our performance the team has been asked to play a leading role in these to share and discuss examples of best practice.
