Renfrewshire's unheard voices will be amplified through a new community initiative.
The Renfrewshire Voices fund is open to equality groups and organisations who work with them. This includes LGBT+ communities, faith groups, British Sign Language (BSL) users, disabled people and other groups who may not usually have their voices heard.
Grants of up to £4,000 are available from Renfrewshire Council. Organisations who are led by, represent or work with equality groups can apply. They must operate in Renfrewshire.
Projects that can be funded include surveys, focus groups, and community conversations. They can also include interviews, workshops, and videos, and more.
Feedback from people with lived experience will be used to influence decisions affecting them and inform future Council services.
Depute Leader Jacqueline Cameron, who is also chair of Fairer Renfrewshire Sub-Committee, said:
I want everyone in Renfrewshire to have their voice heard. What local people tell us will help shape future services.
People with lived experience are experts in their own lives. It's important we hear from them as services and policies can affect their daily lives.
Renfrewshire's community organisations know the communities they serve. Through Renfrewshire Voices, we can improve outcomes for our less heard equality groups.
Listening to and learning from our communities can help us make better decisions. Together, we can build a fairer Renfrewshire for everyone.
Renfrewshire Voices is part of the Council's commitment to reducing inequality and make a Fairer Renfrewshire for all.
Recent progress includes a new equalities Outcomes Action Plan and setting up a new BSL User Group in Renfrewshire. Work continues to expand equality networks.
Organisations can apply for a Renfrewshire Voices grant by 28 October 2026.
Successful projects will be awarded funding from December 2026. Funded activity must take place during 2027.
