Families to receive extra £50 clothing grant this winter

Parents and carers will get an extra £50 as part of a Winter Clothing Payment initiative.

The money is paid to families in receipt of a school clothing grant for school year 2026–27.

The additional money will help families buy additional clothing for the winter months. It is part of the Council’s budget commitment to help people during the continued cost-of-living crisis and make Renfrewshire a fairer place for all.

Anyone who hasn’t yet applied and are eligible should apply by Friday 23 October. This is the closing date for those eligible for the extra £50 payment.

The money will be paid into bank accounts by Friday 30 October.

Families who have already applied for a school clothing grant for school year 2026–27 do not need to apply again.
