Pupils in St James’ Primary School, Paisley, held a food donation drive to support those accessing Renfrewshire Foodbank.
The primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils in the Fundraising Committee organised the food drive and pupils were able to wear their own clothes for a day in exchange for a donation of dried or tinned food.
Claire McKinnon, class teacher at St James’ Primary, said:
We are very proud of how much hard work our Fundraising Committee put into organising this event and are very grateful of the generosity of our families and school community.
In a note back from Renfrewshire Foodbank, pupils and teachers were thanked for their collection efforts. The team said the school’s dedication and support have made a huge difference to the lives of people living in poverty.
Renfrewshire Council also recently agreed to give Renfrewshire Foodbank £10,000 to support their ongoing service delivery during the winter period.
