There are 43 councillors in Renfrewshire, each representing one of 12 multi-member electoral wards.
Each electoral ward has either three or four councillors.

The Council has:
- 20 Scottish National Party (SNP)
- 10 Scottish Labour
- 2 Labour and Co-operative Party
- 3 Scottish Conservative and Unionist
- 3 Independent
- 3 Reform UK
- 1 Liberal Democrat
- 1 Non-Aligned councillor.
Councillor Iain Nicolson (SNP) is the Leader of the Council.
Councillor Jacqueline Cameron (SNP) is the Depute Leader.
Councillor Lorraine Cameron is Provost of Renfrewshire (SNP – although this role is non-political).
