What the consultation is

We're currently assessing the locations and quality of outdoor play spaces available for young people and families across Renfrewshire.

The play spaces we are assessing include:

  • equipped play areas
  • bike and skate parks and tracks
  • ball game courts
  • multi-use game areas (MUGAs)
  • outdoor fitness areas.

Why we’re consulting

This is part of the ongoing work towards forming our new Local Development Plan.

The plan will set out strategy and proposals for the use of land and buildings in Renfrewshire up to 2038 and beyond.

Consultation outcome

The outcome of this consultation phase is not ready yet. We'll publish it as soon as we can.

We'll publish the findings as a Play Sufficiency Assessment, which will consider the quality and distribution of play opportunities across Renfrewshire.

Your views will inform this Play Sufficiency Assessment, which will be presented at the council's Planning Board for approval before publication in December 2025.
