What the consultation is

The Strategic Housing Investment Plan includes proposals for new build affordable housing that will be built by either the council or one of its housing association partners with developments expected to include a range of property type and sizes to meet a range of housing needs across Renfrewshire.

Draft Renfrewshire Strategic Housing Investment Plan 2026 to 2031

As part of the Affordable Housing Supply Programme process, local authorities are required to prepare a Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) each year that outlines where grant funding provided to Councils by the Scottish Government will be used to the support delivery of new affordable homes.

What happens next

All representations will be reviewed before finalising the Strategic Housing Investment Plan which will be submitted for approval to the Council’s Communities and Housing Policy Board on 28 October 2025
