What the consultation is

We’re looking for ideas for land use and sites for future development to include in our next Local Development Plan.

You can submit your suggestions to us through 2 surveys:

  • call for ideas survey
  • call for sites survey.

Why we’re consulting

We’re asking residents, communities, landowners, and developers to suggest land use ideas and development sites for us to assess for potential inclusion in our new Local Development Plan.

The call for ideas survey lets you suggest proposals on the use of land and buildings, such as:

  • new recreational and community facilities
  • allotments and community growing sites
  • areas to be protected for environmental conservation and biodiversity interests
  • active travel routes.

The call for sites survey gives you the opportunity to suggest development locations for us to consider for the plan, such as:

  • housing
  • retail
  • industrial development
  • tourism
  • energy infrastructure.

The surveys can also provide us with additional information to support proposals that were submitted previously through the 2024 call for ideas survey.
