Planning applications

The Planning Authority have suspended the drop in duty planning officer service

Our teams are working to keep your applications progressing and to maintain business continuity for customers.  A number of temporary changes have been implemented to help us achieve this.

We will communicate with you by email and telephone, Please contact Planning via email - or by calling 0300 300 0144.

Please use the portal to submit all applications, plans and supporting information.  Additional information relating to an existing application can also be submitted via the portal. We currently cannot accept paper applications, or paper submissions of additional information.

You can also use the portal portal to make payments relating to your application or call 0300 300 0300 to discuss alternative payment methods.

Site visits and meetings of the Communities, Housing and Planning Policy Board have resumed.

The Coronavirus (Scotland) Act, which came into force on 7 April 2020, sets out that planning permission that would otherwise lapse in the six months until 6 October 2020 will be extended by one year to allow work to start once the current restrictions are lifted.

The Development Management Section has the responsibility for administering the Council's duties under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 and related legislation.

We aim to respond to general enquiries within 14 days. 

Depending on the nature of the enquiry and the complexity of the issues raised we may require a longer time period.
In which case we will endeavour to advise you of when you can expect to receive a response and keep you updated on the progress made.
