Lead to Succeed: Inspire

Who this programme is for

This programme is aimed at current and aspiring Supervisors, Task leaders, and Team leaders working at Renfrewshire Council and our partner organisations. It aims to inspire a leadership mindset and build practical skills to help you co-ordinate the work of your team.

  • Planning for future personal development.

Successful completion of the written assessment leads to the CMI Level 2 Award in Team Leading.

How long it takes

This programme level takes approximately 9 months to complete. 

By taking part in it, you commit to:

  • the entire duration of the programme
  • attending all Workshops which are mandatory, and for their entire duration (minimum of 90% attendance is required)
  • undertaking all e-learning modules and Workbooks in the timescales given
  • self-study
  • group work activities.

Delivery and assessment

A blended approach, which will include a combination of mandatory trainer-led online Workshops delivered through Microsoft Teams, interactive e-learning through iLearn, self-study, and group work activities, so you can build your network as you learn.

You will need a computer or laptop with a working microphone and camera to fully take part in the learning and activities.

You will submit a written assessment (approx 2,000 words), which will assess your knowledge and skills of being a Team Leader. This will be completed in your own time, and must be submitted on the given date.

How much it costs

The cost of this programme is £300 which will be paid by your Service, if you are approved to take part. Should you be removed or withdraw from the programme, this fee is non-refundable.

Make sure you've got your Line manager and Budget holder's permission before applying.

How to apply

Discuss your interest in the programme with your line manager in the first instance, and obtain Budget holder approval before applying. 

Once you have their support, you can apply for the Inspire programme.
