Order new bins

General waste bins, recycling bins, how much they cost, damaged bins and bin lids, households on sack collection routes.

You can order additional or replacement bins if you live in Renfrewshire and we collect your waste.

General waste

Grey bins are for rubbish that cannot be recycled (general waste).

Each household gets 1 grey bin.

If you have more rubbish than can fit in your grey bin, you can take it to your local household waste recycling centre or wait until your next bin collection day.

If you'd like a larger grey bin

If you're regularly generating more waste than can fit into your grey bin, you can apply for a larger grey bin.

We'll look at why you need a larger bin. Valid reasons for needing a larger grey bin could include if you have more than 1 child using disposable nappies or there are 5 or more permanent residents in your home. You'll need to demonstrate that you're fully using our recycling services to qualify for a larger grey bin.

Apply for a larger grey bin.

For most bin swaps, you'll need to pay the standard price for whichever size bin you'd like. However, you'll only need to pay £25, not the standard price, if you're swapping a 240 litre grey bin for a 360 litre grey bin. You will not have to pay the £25 charge if you receive a full (100%) Council Tax Reduction or if you receive any (full or partial) severe mental impairment reduction or discount.

If you'd like a smaller grey bin

You can also swap your grey bin for a smaller size.

To request a smaller grey bin, phone us on 0300 300 0300.

For most bin swaps, you'll need to pay the standard price for whichever size bin you'd like. However, you'll only need to pay £25, not the standard price, if you're swapping:

  • a 360 litre grey bin for a 240 litre grey bin.

You will not have to pay the £25 charge if you receive a full (100%) Council Tax Reduction or if you receive any (full or partial) severe mental impairment reduction or discount.

Households on sack collection routes

Some households in Renfrewshire use sacks instead of bins. We provide these households with an annual supply of rubbish sacks and recycling sacks.

If you run out of recycling sacks, get in touch:

We do not provide additional black sacks for general waste. If you need additional black sacks, you'll need to purchase them privately.

Commercial waste

We have different general waste and recycling services for businesses, charities, and public sector bodies.
