Renfrewshire Council has won the Association of Project Management (APM) Awards 2025 Public Sector Organisation of the Year. The awards celebrate excellence in project management and recognise outstanding achievements across a variety of sectors.

Topping the Public Sector Organisation of the Year category, the APM judges praised Renfrewshire Council for its:

“…clear focus on delivering outstanding public value through projects that truly serve the community.”

The judges also commended the team’s commitment to continuous improvement, demonstrating how project management can transform public services and build stronger, more resilient communities for the future.

Karen Mann, Strategic Change Manager said:

The Council’s project management capability has grown significantly over the past 10 years. From a small team focused mainly on small-scale systems implementations, to a mature, high-performing project delivery service supporting a wide variety of projects across Renfrewshire, including building new schools and rolling out digital services to supporting refugee resettlement and improving social care.

This award is recognition of that journey and the hard work and dedication of the team, and I couldn’t be prouder.

Councillor John Shaw, Convenor of Renfrewshire Council’s Finance, Resources and Customer Services Policy Board, said:

This achievement highlights the great work of our project management team in partnership with services across the council. Together, they have delivered a wide range of initiatives—from major infrastructure projects to digital transformation and service improvements—that will benefit Renfrewshire residents and communities for years to come. It’s a fantastic example of how collaboration and innovation can make a real difference for our communities.
