How to get a Young Scot Card

If you're aged between 11 and 15

If you are aged between 11 and 15, your parent or carer will need to apply for you.

They can apply online for your Young Scot Card (NEC) on the getyournec.scot website.

If you're aged 16 or over

You can apply online for your Young Scot Card (NEC) yourself on the getyournec.scot website.

What you need before you apply

If you're applying online, you can use a device, like a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to take a digital photo and upload it with your application.

You or your parent or carer will need to provide proof of your name, age, address, and a photo of you when you apply, so we can confirm your details.

See what you can use as proof of your name, age and address on the nec.scot website.

If you can't apply for your card online, you can get an application form or ask for help to apply at any library in Renfrewshire. You'll need to bring a passport photograph and proof documents with you.
