What the consultation is

Have your say in the equality outcomes, which help make Renfrewshire fairer by progressing equality, tackling discrimination and harassment and promoting good relations between different groups.

The purpose of this consultation is for those who live, work, and study in Renfrewshire to help shape Renfrewshire’s equality outcomes and the actions we take to support those outcomes.

Why we’re consulting

We published our draft Equality Outcomes in April 2025. Under the draft equality outcomes sits a draft action plan. The action plan includes information on how we intend to work towards each equality outcome.

This survey asks you your opinion on the equality outcomes and draft actions. This will help us identify what actions would make the biggest difference in tackling inequality.

How you can tell us what you think

This consultation phase closes at 11:59pm on Friday 31 October 2025.

Tell us what you think

Other ways to tell us what you think

There are several face-to-face sessions scheduled at the end of October which everyone is welcome to attend.

What happens next

The findings of this consultation will be shared with different council services to make sure  that the work to progress the equality outcomes is responsive to local community needs. An updated action plan as a result of your feedback will be published by April 2026. Your feedback is important because it helps us:

  • Make Better Decisions: We want the voices of people from all backgrounds in Renfrewshire to be heard and considered.
  • Better Outcomes: By listening to a wide range of voices, we can design equality outcomes that are more effective and fairer for everyone.
  • Be Transparent and Accountable: We want to show how we consider equality considerations in our decision making.
  • Build Trust: By engaging with communities, we hope to build trust and confidence.
  • Legal Compliance: We are committed to meeting the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 by working to eliminate discrimination, advance equality, and foster good relationships between diverse groups.
