What the consultation is
Have your say in the equality outcomes, which help make Renfrewshire fairer by progressing equality, tackling discrimination and harassment and promoting good relations between different groups.
The purpose of this consultation is for those who live, work, and study in Renfrewshire to help shape Renfrewshire’s equality outcomes and the actions we take to support those outcomes.
Why we’re consulting
We published our draft Equality Outcomes in April 2025. Under the draft equality outcomes sits a draft action plan. The action plan includes information on how we intend to work towards each equality outcome.
This survey asks you your opinion on the equality outcomes and draft actions. This will help us identify what actions would make the biggest difference in tackling inequality.
Consultation outcome
The findings of this consultation will be shared with different council services to make sure that the work to progress the equality outcomes is responsive to local community needs.
Key findings from our equalities outcome consultation show:
- people are unaware of the events happening in their local community
- people often get their information on the council and council services through word of mouth, and they can find information provided by the council difficult to understand
- a digital first approach does not suit everyone
- people find it difficult to find employment because there is a lack of suitable job roles that are flexible enough to fit around childcare
- people feel disillusioned and a lack of trust with council consultation and engagement processes.
