Strategic Housing Investment Plan

Consultation on the new Draft Strategic Housing Investment Plan 2024 to 2029

Consultation on the new draft Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP), which covers the period 2024 to 2029 has started with comments, feedback and suggestions invited from all stakeholders until 25th September 2023. The proposed draft can be viewed on this page.

Comments and feedback received from this consultation will be used to shape and finalise the new Strategic Housing Investment Plan for the next five years.

The Scottish Government allocate grant funding to local authority areas through the Affordable Housing Supply Programme. Local authorities are required to prepare and update a Strategic Housing Investment Plan each year which sets out key investment priorities for affordable housing which will help to achieve the outcomes set out in Renfrewshire's Local Housing Strategy.

Affordable Housing can include a range of tenures and includes homes for social rent, low cost home ownership/shared equity, intermediate/Mid-Market Rent and private sector delivered below market cost housing.

Following the consultation period, all representations will be reviewed before finalising the Strategic Housing Investment Plan which will be submitted for approval to the Council's Communities and Housing Policy Board in October 2023. The final Strategic Housing Investment Plan will then be submitted to the Scottish Government.
