Walking, cycling and access projects in Renfrewshire
Our plans and projects to improve paths in Renfrewshire to encourage more people to get out and about.
Improving paths in Renfrewshire encourages people to get out and about.
The core paths in Renfrewshire are a mixture of surfaced and un-surfaced off road paths, pavements and minor roads.
Over the last few years work has taken place to develop some of the paths which were highlighted in the Renfrewshire core paths plan.
Successful projects
In Lochwinnoch a path has been constructed that links Johnshill to Parkhill woods. This has been very popular with the number of people entering the Johnshill field rising threefold since the path was opened. Some of the paths in the woods have also been upgraded recently. These works have taken place largely as part of the Semple Trail Heritage Project and have been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Forestry Commission Scotland's Woodlands In and Around Towns scheme and Renfrewshire Council.
