New Chief Officer for Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership appointed
Billy McClean has been appointed as Chief Officer for Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and will take up the post in the next few months. Billy currently leads the design and delivery of adult services at South Ayrshire HSCP and NHS Ayrshire and Arran as the Head of Community Health and Care Services.
Billy's appointment marks an important step forward in the continued development of integrated services across Renfrewshire. He will replace Carron O'Byrne who has been acting as Interim Chief Officer for Renfrewshire HSCP since February 2025.
Chief Executive Alan Russell said, "I'm delighted to welcome Billy to the role. He brings a wealth of experience from his extensive career in health and social care with a portfolio spanning adult and older people's services, mental health, learning disabilities, and sensory impairment. I look forward to working with him and am confident his leadership will further strengthen our commitment to delivering high-quality, collaborative health and social care services for Renfrewshire.
"I would like to thank Carron for the leadership and support she has provided over the past three months in her role as both Interim Chief Officer of Renfrewshire HSCP and as a member of the Council's corporate management team."
The appointment will be formally recognised at the local IJB meeting in June.
