Renfrewshire Council launches WhatsApp Channel
As we continue to develop ways of people keeping in touch with Renfrewshire Council, this week we are launching a Renfrewshire Council WhatsApp Channel.
The way the channel works, it will be used for broadcasting information to highlight important service updates, opportunities for residents to have their say, the services we offer and the work we do to support communities and make Renfrewshire the great place it is to live, work and visit.
Followers will only be able to engage by reacting to content posted by the Council using emojis, rather than replies.
It will be launched to coincide with the opening of the Renfrew Bridge on Thursday and we will be testing how this channel works over the coming months.
Lucy Adamson, Interim Head of Marketing, Communications and Events, said:
"People use so many different ways of getting their news and information, we're always looking at how we can reach our communities and provide helpful, trusted information about our services.
"We're excited to launch our WhatsApp channel as another way for us to keep in touch and this will add to all the ways we communicate, whether that's online, in-person or through direct communication."
