Renew or replace your Blue Badge

When you should renew your Blue Badge, if your Blue Badge is lost, stolen or damaged.

Renew your Blue Badge

Your Blue Badge has an expiry date on it. You should apply up to 12 weeks before it expires.

You can reapply for yourself, or someone else can apply for you.

You can renew your Blue Badge online on the GOV.UK website.

The fee for renewing a Blue Badge is £20. We will contact you about paying the fee if your Blue Badge is renewed.

If your Blue Badge is lost, stolen or damaged

If your Blue Badge is lost or stolen, you must report it to the police.

You can apply for a replacement lost or stolen Blue Badge on the gov.uk website.

You can apply for yourself, or on behalf of a relative, somebody you care for, or somebody that needs a badge due to their disability or condition.

If your Blue Badge has been lost, you'll need a lost property reference number.

If your Blue Badge has been stolen, you'll need a crime reference number.

You can get the reference number when you report it to the police.

There is a £20 administration charge for a replacement badge, which you can pay after we confirm your replacement.

Your replacement badge is valid until the expiry date of the original badge. If your badge is due to expire in the next 3 months, you should reapply for a new badge instead.

The lost or stolen badge is cancelled when you ask for a replacement. It is a criminal offence to use a cancelled badge, with a fine of up to £1,000.

If you can't apply online, contact our Customer Services by email at blue.badge@renfrewshire.gov.uk or call us on 0300 300 0300 (option 5 then 1).
