Free parking in our Paisley car parks is extended from 1 hour to 2 hours during the festive season, from 1 December to 3 January.

Where you can get free parking
Charges generally apply Monday to Saturday (Monday to Friday in Zones 3 and 4).
All the on-street parking spaces in Paisley offer up to 1 hour free parking, except the long stay spaces in Zone 4, Corsebar Road.
During the festive season, from 1 December to 3 January, all our car parks offer up to 2 hours free parking. This applies during these dates only. After 3 January, it will go back to 1 hour free parking.
You need to display a ticket whether you are parking for free or paying:
- If parking for 2 hours or less - free parking, press button for ticket.
- If parking for more than 2 hours - pay appropriate charge, press button for ticket.
Get a ticket to park (both free and paid)
If you're paying by cash, you need to collect a ticket from the parking machine.
If you're using the RingGo app, you need to register a virtual ticket, regardless of how long you're going to park there. Otherwise, you may be liable for a parking fine.
Changing to another car park or on-street parking space after 2 hours is not allowed. You can only receive 2 hours free parking at 1 car park or on-street parking space per day.
Once you've parked
If using a parking machine:
- go to the ticket machine
- enter your registration
- pay for the length of time you will be parked there (if it's more than 2 hours)
- press the button for a ticket
- display your parking ticket visibly inside your car so the parking attendant can see it.
Remember:
- If parking for 2 hour or less - free parking, press button for ticket.
- If parking for more than 2 hours - pay appropriate charge, press button for ticket.
If using RingGo:
- If parking for 2 hours of less - you must register it on RingGo.
- If parking for more than 2 hours - pay for a virtual ticket using RingGo.
RingGo does not give you at ticket. Our wardens will be able to check your registration number and see your virtual ticket on their handheld devices.
Parking at weekends
Parking is free on Sundays in all council car parks and on-street parking spaces, unless there are restrictions clearly marked.
Parking is also free on Saturdays in on-street parking spaces in Zones 3 and 4, (East End of Paisley and Opposite Royal Alexandra Hospital).
The car park at Renfrewshire House is available from 8am to 6pm on Saturdays (charged) and Sundays (free).
