What's On

Get ready to say "Aloha" to a day of tropical fun at this year's Gala Day! We're bringing the island vibes to Robertson Park for a Hawaiian themed celebration.

Join us on Sunday 1 June from 12noon until 5pm for a fantastic family day out.

The event kicks off with the much-loved parade from Trinity High School to Robertson Park via the High Street featuring local groups such as Karen E. Moir Dance & Drama and Rockus Community Choir, accompanied by Bloco Winnoch, a local samba band, and a local ukulele group.

The stage, programmed by the Fitzpatrick Academy of Music and supported by Erskine Arts, will showcase local dance, drama, and music schools, including a showcase from Fitzpatrick Academy of Music's Easter camp students and a performance from cover band Proposal.

There's a fantastic line-up of entertainment at Roberston Park with 54 different stalls, 6 delicious food traders and a variety of Hawaiian-based attractions such as stilt walkers. Enjoy family-friendly activities such as:

  • Free face painting and inflatables
  • A funfair
  • BMX sessions from BMX Scotland
  • Dance workshops led by Karen E. Moir Dance and Drama
  • Football activities from Street Stuff
  • Rugby taster sessions from Bishopton Rugby Club.

There's something for everyone to enjoy, don't miss out on the chance to soak up the festive atmosphere and experience a little slice of paradise right here in Renfrew. So, dust off your brightest shirts, practice your hula moves, and come join us for a memorable Hawaiian-themed Renfrew Gala Day! We can't wait to celebrate with you.

Volunteer to help at major events

For each event, we need volunteers to help us out. There are lots of different roles for our events volunteers.

Volunteering is a great way to get skills and experience in working at major events. It's also a great way of getting out and about, meeting new and like-minded people, and making a valuable contribution to your community.

Send an email to Valerija Tkacenko, our Event Coordinator, at eventsvolunteers@renfrewshire.gov.uk if you'd like to volunteer.
