Project

Renfrewshire's play park investment programme

What our play park investment programme is

Our play park investment programme installs brand-new equipment as part of a full renewal of a play park or refurbishes existing equipment at play parks in Renfrewshire.

The equipment we install as part of the investment programme is informed by feedback from the public through consultations, so the play parks reflect what you want to see included.

Since 2021, more than £5 million has been invested by the council, Scottish Government, and a small amount of community fundraising, across more than 50 play parks and wheeled sports facilities throughout Renfrewshire.

As part of our 2026 to 2027 budget, we agreed to invest £2.1 million over the next three years to support the ongoing play parks improvement programme. This will ensure that by 2029, all council-owned play parks that were in scope at the beginning of this project will have benefitted from renewal or refurbishment.
