Which door will you open?

Over 50 buildings and other places across Renfrewshire will open their doors to the visiting public on the weekend of 5-6 September.

Renfrewshire Doors Open Days are part of the annual Doors Open Days celebrations from the Scottish Civic Trust.

If you'd like to open your building or place to the public in this year’s Doors Open Days, please complete this online application form. 

The William Grant Foundation offers grants of £100-£500 to help venues with additions or adaptions that help with accessibility - for example, access ramps, foldable seating, sensory packs, tactile signage and materials or written materials in other languages and formats. Email dod@scottishcivictrust.org before 31 July to find out more.

Activities confirmed for Doors Open Days:

Paisley

• The Art Department - Large art exhibition/show with artists present.
• Brediland Allotments - Children's seed-sowing activities and quizzes.
• Brick Lane Academy - Special promotional weekend with discounts on music lessons.
• Heritage Buddies - Guided tours of Oakshaw graveyard; book your place in advance.
• Paisley Abbey - Abbey tours, costumed walkabout characters and arts and crafts activities.
• Paisley Methodist Central Halls - Paisley Photographic Society will exhibit and discuss their work.
• Russell Institute - Building tours every 15-20 minutes.
• Walled Garden at Barshaw Park - Nature-themed arts and crafts and guided tours.

Renfrew

• Broadloan Gardens, Renfrew - Renfrew Association of Growers & Gardeners host a gala day.
• Heritage Buddies, Renfrew - Guided tours of Renfrew Old Parish Graveyard; book your place in advance.

Johnstone

• Johnstone Amateur Boxing Club - Boxing drills and participation activities.
• Johnstone Textile Space - weaving workshops at 12pm and 2pm; book your place in advance.

Kilbarchan

• Kilbarchan Old Library Centre & Hidden Garden - Refreshments, children's activities and storytelling.
• Kilbarchan Guide Hall - Girl Guide activities for children.

Erskine

• Erskine Arts - View the art exhibition and speak with local volunteers.

Inchinnan

• All Hallows Graveyard, Inchinnan - Rare opportunity to visit the graveyard with Inchinnan Historical Interest Group as your guide.

Volunteering is a great way to get skills and experience in working at major events. It's also a great way of getting out and about, meeting new and like-minded people, and making a valuable contribution to your community.
