A new film showing the positive impact of a Renfrewshire family support service has been launched.

The Family Wellbeing Service film was premiered at a special event held in Paisley. Around 70 children, young people, parents and partner organisations attended.

Families talked about their experiences of the service in the film. Staff and partner organisations also explained the work they do to support families.

People can watch the film on Renfrewshire Council's YouTube channel.

Tam Young works in the Family Wellbeing Service and led on the creation of the film. He said:

This film shows the difference we are making for children, young people and families. It reflects the strength of partnership work taking place across Renfrewshire.

I'd like to thank everyone who played a part. The commitment of Council services, partners organisations, young people and families has made this project a success.

People talk about the Family Wellbeing Service.

During the event, newly-formed band Suddenly Found performed. The band are made up of five young people who are neurodiverse. They came into being after completing a pilot programme developed by Family Wellbeing Service, Renfrewshire Music Services and Brick Lane Music Academy CIC.

The young band have played five concerts, including Barshaw Park Gala Day. They have also been interviewed by Paisley Radio). Members have said being in the band has grown their self-confidence and belief.

Councillor Emma Rodden, Renfrewshire Council's Education Convener, said:

Every family should be able to get help when they need it, and as early as possible. The Family Wellbeing Service makes that happen by bringing all the support together. Support is tailored to each family's circumstances.

This film gives a real insight into the difference that approach is making. It shines a light on the positive impact Family Wellbeing Service has on families.
