Children encouraged to take part in Provost’s Christmas Card Competition

Santa with a primary school aged child and Provost of Renfrewshire on stage to switch on Christmas lights.

Renfrewshire’s Provost Lorraine Cameron is looking for local children to design a Christmas Card, with five lucky winners getting to help switch on the Christmas lights.

There is no theme this year, meaning children can create anything Christmas related.

Out of the five winning designs, Provost Cameron will choose one card to be sent out digitally as her own Christmas card this year.

Every card that is submitted to the competition will be forwarded to I Am Me Scotland, who will arrange for them to go to elderly residents across Renfrewshire.

Each card should include a message, for example 'I hope you have a lovely Christmas', and be signed with the child's first name, age, and name of their Primary School.

All entries should be on A4 card or paper folded into an A5 card with the message inside.

The image of the winning entries will be replicated in a flat A5 format, so although children are free to use glitter or other decorative items, those won't be able to replicate that in the digital design for the Provost’s Christmas card.

The closing date for entries is Thursday 22 October. They should be posted to:
