What it is

Volunteering is when you freely give up your time and skills to benefit others.

You may wish to volunteer to:

  • support your community
  • help people or organisations
  • learn new skills and gain experience
  • boost your wellbeing and confidence.

You can find out how you can volunteer to support your community (Ready Scotland website).

Before offering your support, please make sure it is safe for you to do so.

Find volunteering opportunities in Renfrewshire

If you're interested in volunteering in Renfrewshire, you can search and apply for volunteering opportunities on the Engage Renfrewshire volunteers website.

You'll need an email address to sign register on the Engage Renfrewshire website.

If you do not have an email address, you can phone Engage Renfrewshire on 0141 887 7707.

Volunteer at council events

For each event, we need volunteers to help us out. There are lots of different roles for our events volunteers.

Volunteering is a great way to get skills and experience in working at major events. It's also a great way of getting out and about, meeting new and like-minded people, and making a valuable contribution to your community.

Send an email to Valerija Tkacenko, our Event Coordinator, at eventsvolunteers@renfrewshire.gov.uk if you'd like to volunteer.
