What the service is
If you're regularly generating more waste than can fit into your grey bin, you can apply for a bigger grey bin.
Who can apply
If you apply, we'll look at why you need a bigger bin. Valid reasons for needing a bigger grey bin could include if you have more than 1 child using disposable nappies or there are 5 or more permanent residents in your home. You'll need to demonstrate that you're fully using our recycling services to qualify for a bigger grey bin.
How much it costs
The price for a bin depends on its size.
- 140 litre bin (small): £49.90
- 240 litre bin (standard): £62.10
- 360 litre bin (large): £124.10
- 1,100 litre bin (communal): £449.80
For most bin changes, you'll need to pay the full price for each bin, depending on its size. However, you'll only need to pay £27.60, not the standard price, if you're changing from a 240 litre grey bin to a 360 litre grey bin. You will not have to pay the £27.60 charge if you receive a full (100%) Council Tax Reduction or if you receive a council tax discount or exemption for a person with a severe mental impairment.
