What the family wellbeing service is

Our Family Wellbeing Community Team offer support with a wide range of issues which may be affecting you or your family's wellbeing. Being a parent or carer can be difficult at times.

This support will be offered when and where you need it and for as long as you need it. Please feel free to get in touch and ask for help.

We work in partnership with Home Start, The Star Project, Active Communities, Impact Arts and Klas Care.

Our aim is to listen to you and offer help to avoid things becoming more challenging. We'll offer a timely response without judgement.

We can offer support with the challenges of being a parent, such as:

  • worries you have about any changes of circumstances for you and your children
  • bereavement and loss
  • emotional and mental health difficulties
  • financial stress
  • many other aspects of family life.

We aim to provide the right help at the right time to stop issues getting worse.

By talking, listening and engaging with you, we offer free, non-judgemental and responsive support.

This could mean:

  • giving advice at a weekly drop-in for parents, where members of the team will be able to help
  • providing or arranging practical help or assistance
  • carrying out an initial assessment to help identify what support would work best for you and your family
  • putting you in contact with other services or organisations like the NHS, money advice or counselling.

Drop-in sessions

You can come along to our drop-in sessions where you can chat with one of our Community Family Wellbeing Workers. You do not need to make an appointment.

You'll have the chance to discuss any issues or concerns that are impacting you or your family and look at support in moving forward.

Renfrew YMCA, 3 Canal Lane, PA4 8QS.
From 9am to 1pm.
Every Wednesday during school term time.
