Renfrewshire Council

Building works in Renfrewshire House car park from 17 February 2024

Reduced parking capacity expected for two months for essential works.

From Saturday 17 February, areas on the ground floor of Renfrewshire House car park will be cordoned off to allow for essential structural repairs.

There will be a reduction of 18 spaces that are available for council colleagues to park their cars and the areas that are inaccessible will be clearly marked. In addition, a temporary route will be in place and clearly signposted to divert drivers away from the impacted area.

The repair work will start on Monday 19 February and is expected to last for around two months.

For the time being the car park will continue to operate on a first come, first served basis and there remains no guarantee of securing a space except for those with spaces under agreed leases.

When full, alternative parking is available nearby at Saucel St car park. It has 65 spaces, is a short walk (behind Abbey Chemist) from Renfrewshire House, and currently parking here (Monday to Friday) is free of charge for all council employees.

Colleagues are reminded they should not park in Abbey Place beside Renfrewshire House as this area is strictly for residents and their visitors only.

If you are using the car park at Renfrewshire House please remember:

  • electric charging bays are for electric cars only
  • not to double park or abandon in non-dedicated parking bays
  • do not drive round the "car park is full" sign and enter the car park regardless
  • not to use your pass to raise barrier for colleagues or friends.

And please be respectful and treat colleagues the way you would like to be treated.
