Draft Strategic Housing Investment Plan 2018/19 - 2022/23

Consultation on the new Draft Strategic Housing Investment Plan 2018/19 to 2022/23

Consultation on the new draft Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP), which covers the period 2018/19 to 2022/23, has now started with comments and feedback invited from all interested parties until Monday 18th September 2017. The proposed draft can be viewed on this page.

Comments and feedback received from this consultation will be used to inform and then finalise the SHIP for the next five years.

The Scottish Government allocates grant funding to local authority areas through the Affordable Housing Supply Programme.

As part of the Affordable Housing Supply Programme process, local authorities are required to prepare and update a SHIP each year which sets out key investment priorities for affordable housing which will help to achieve the outcomes set out in the current Local Housing Strategy which covers the period 2016 to 2021. The SHIP also outlines how the affordable housing supply target of 200 homes each year will be met to 2021.

Affordable Housing can include a range of tenures and includes homes for social rent, low cost home ownership/shared equity, shared ownership, intermediate/Mid-Market Rent and private sector delivered below market cost housing.

Following the close of this consultation, the final version of the SHIP will be prepared and submitted for approval to the Council's Communities, Housing and Planning Policy Board in November 2017. The final SHIP will also be submitted to the Scottish Government.
