Gallowhill Council housing
New council housing is being delivered in Gallowhill.
McTaggart Construction have been awarded the contract to design and build 65 homes at a vacant site off Montgomery Road.
The development will have a mix of properties and sizes including 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes as well 1 and 2 bed cottage flats and a small number of 1, 2 and 3 bed bungalows.
They will all have their own designated garden area and many of the homes will be wheelchair accessible.
They will meet the highest standards in energy efficiency and insulation, with air source heat pumps for their heating.
The development will also see the play park being relocated and upgraded nearby.
McTaggart Construction shared the designs and site plans during public consultation in May and June 2024.
They will be submitting a planning application.
