Planning applications

Due to the ongoing issues related to the Coronavirus, unfortunately the Planning Authority are suspending the drop in duty planning officer service.

Our teams are working to keep your applications progressing and to maintain business continuity for customers.  A number of temporary changes have been implemented to help us achieve this.

We will no longer arrange any face to face meetings.  We will communicate with you by email and telephone.

We will no longer accept paper applications, or paper submissions of additional information.  Please use the portal to submit all applications and paperwork.  Additional information relating to an existing application should be submitted using the post submission form.

We will no longer accept phone payments for applications.  Please use the portal to make payments relating to your application.


The Development Management Section has the responsibility for administering the Council's duties under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 and related legislation.

We aim to respond to general enquiries within 14 days. 

Depending on the nature of the enquiry and the complexity of the issues raised we may require a longer time period.
In which case we will endeavour to advise you of when you can expect to receive a response and keep you updated on the progress made.
