Primary school full return from Monday 15 March - published 10 March 2021

A message to parents and carers on the return of all children to primary school from Monday 15 March. It is dated Wednesday 10 March 2021.

Dear Parent or Carer

Further to my letter dated Friday 5 March on the next phase of schools reopening, I once again want to extend my sincere thanks to the efforts and patience of all parents and carers in supporting your children to learn remotely at home since Christmas. I understand how challenging this experience has been as you juggle home and work with your child's learning.

I am delighted that we are now able to have all children in primary school return full time to their classes from Monday 15 March. Our teachers and support staff are ready to welcome them back. If you have a question about the return to school, please speak to your child's school directly.

The safety and wellbeing of our children and staff remains our priority and our schools continue to follow all national guidance. In addition, the same enhanced cleaning processes that were previously in place will continue.

As part of the safety measures in place, all of our schools have adopted their own drop off and pick up arrangements. These arrangements have been developed to support each school's layout and geography. Schools will continue to review these arrangements and adapt if necessary and as needed.

However, for these arrangements to work, I would ask all parents and carers to please do everything possible to observe two metre physical distancing and to wear a face covering when dropping off or picking up your child. By following the physical distancing guidance, you are helping our headteachers and school staff to ensure children are safe within school.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Yours sincerely

Steven Quinn
