Gift wrap

You can put these items into your blue bin or bring them along to one of our recycling points

What is it made from?

The materials that go into making some wrapping paper result in it not always being accepted for recycling.

We are unable to accept metalised plastic film wrapping paper.

An easy way to find out if an item is foil or metalised plastic film, is to do the scrunch test. Simply scrunch the item in your hand - if it remains 'scrunched' it is foil and can be recycled; if it springs back it is probably metalised plastic film and not recyclable.

How should I recycle it?

All wrapping paper that has passed the 'scrunch test' can be put into your blue bin or brought along to one of our recycling points.

Try to remove any sellotape before putting your wrapping paper into your blue bin.

Alternatively you could use old wrapping paper to line drawers or in arts and crafts projects.
