Renfrewshire Council

Non-residential social care services

Renfrewshire Integration Joint Board has asked Renfrewshire Council to make changes to the way people pay for non-residential social care services - such as Care at Home and Community Meals.

Background

The cost of providing non-residential social care services has increased, and demand for them keeps growing.

Councils and health and social care partnerships are having to make difficult choices so that they can protect services for the most vulnerable in our societies.

This includes having to think again about what we charge for and how much we charge. We want to make our charging policy fair, and easier to understand. This is why we want to introduce a Contributions-Based Policy.

This means that more services would have a charge, but this would be based on what a person can afford to pay.

About the survey

The Council would like to know what people who use these services think and have written a short survey so that you can tell us.

You can answer as many or as few questions as you like. Some of the questions are about the changes we might make, and some ask about what services you use.

You don't need to tell us any information about yourself or the services you use if you don't want to.

Paper copies of the survey are available at all our day centres and have also been sent to a random sample of community meal and community alarm service users along with reply-paid envelope

Share your views

If you are a service user, carer or family member of our non-residential social care services, this is your opportunity to tell us what you think about the proposals

The online survey will close at 5pm on Monday 6 January 2025.
