Three Council teams shortlisted for this year's Scottish Public Service Awards (SPSA)
Congratulations and best of luck to colleagues in our #Youdecide, I Am Me Scotland and Children's Services teams who have been shortlisted for this year's Scottish Public Service Awards (SPSA).
The Awards, which are run by Holyrood Communications in partnership with the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government, celebrate the contribution made by Scotland's public servants.
Our #YouDecide team have been shortlisted for 'The Community Engagement Award' for their collaborative approach to giving Renfrewshire residents a say in how Council funding is spent in their local areas. Their ground-breaking engagement campaign attracted 2,800 ideas from local people and is recognised far and wide for its ongoing success.
This award recognises the work of public bodies in ensuring that the communities they serve are fully engaged in the development and delivery of public services in their area.
Representing the Council in The Campbell Christie Public Service Reform Award category are our Children's Services, and I Am Me Scotland teams for their work in partnership with Police Scotland on an alcohol and substance awareness programme for children and young people. The innovative project continues to have a positive impact on young people across the country and recently secured the team a prestigious win at this year's COSLA Excellence Awards.
This award will be given in recognition of the team that best embodies the spirit of public service reform as envisaged by Campbell Christie in his ground-breaking vision for public service delivery of the future.
Winners will be announced at this year's award ceremony in the Garden Lobby of the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday, 6 December hosted by the Deputy First Minister of Scotland, Shona Robison, and Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, The Rt Hon Alison Johnstone.
Best of luck to all the nominees!
