Paisley is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors next month when the Royal National Mòd comes to town between 13-21 October, and we hope to see lots of council colleagues getting involved.

It's only the second time the festival has left its traditional Highland heartlands to come to Paisley. The Mòd was previously held here in 2013 and we can't wait to showcase our town as the perfect backdrop for Scotland's premier celebration of Gaelic culture and heritage once more.

This year's festival promises a lively mix of concerts, competitions and ceilidhs - even a shinty! The packed programme of fringe events, designed to appeal to non-Gaelic speakers, is the perfect way to entertain the kids during the October mid-term break.

Volunteer coordinator, Val Tkachenko Get involved

Volunteers will play a crucial role in making Mòd Phàislig 2023 a success and our events volunteer coordinator, Valerija Tkachenko, has extended a personal invitation to colleagues to get involved:

Val said: "This is the biggest celebration of Gaelic music and culture in Scotland, and we are so excited to welcome it to Paisley for a second time.

"Volunteering is a great way to experience the buzz at the heart of the festival and I know it will be a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone who takes part.

"We've got lots of exciting roles to fill from competition hosts and stewards to working with the members of public. If this sounds like something you could do, please don't hesitate to get in touch!"
