Renfrewshire Council

Appointment of new chairperson of Renfrewshire Adult and Child Protection Committees

Tam Baillie has been appointed the new chairperson of Renfrewshire's Adult and Child Protection Committees following the retirement of John Paterson earlier this summer.

Following a robust recruitment process, Tam will take up the post of independent chairperson of the Renfrewshire Adult Protection Committee and the Renfrewshire Child Protection Committee in September.

Tam's previous roles include Director with Barnardo's Scotland and Children and Young People's Commissioner Scotland. Tam also has experience as independent chairperson of the child and adult protection committees in other Scottish areas.

The appointment was confirmed by our Chief Executive, Alan Russell, today.

Alan said: "I'm delighted to welcome Tam to Renfrewshire in his new role, who brings a wealth of experience to the post. I would also like to thank John Paterson for his service in his time in the role."
