Our menopause support for colleagues

Developed in partnership with colleagues and supported by trade unions, our new Supporting Menopause policy aims to nurture an inclusive culture where our employees are comfortable talking about menopause and feel reassured that we're here to help.

Watch this short interview with our Head of People and Organisational Development, Marlene Boyd as she discusses the support we offer and how we'll continue to raise awareness of menopause. 

With more than 8,500 people working here at the council, nearly two thirds of our colleagues could be going through the menopause at any one time. It's important that everyone is aware of the stages, symptoms and impact of menopause and the ways we can support all women, trans, intersex and non-binary people experiencing this stage of life.
