Office improvements to support our new ways of working
As we work to develop new office environments, in support of hybrid working, we wanted to let you know about some of the changes we will be making to the layout at Renfrewshire House.
At the end of this month, we'll be removing a large number of desks and lockers from the lower ground floor, and you'll no longer be able to book any desks or work from this area. Meetings rooms and break-out space will however still be available to use.
To help us prepare for the move we ask that anyone who has any personal or work belongings to collects these from the lower ground floor by Friday 24 February. Anything left after this date will be safely removed from desks and lockers and placed in training room D on the 3rd Floor.
You will start to see further changes to the usual layout at Renfrewshire House, and next month we'll be asking for your feedback as we trial the use of two sound-proof pods, as well as collaborative break out spaces. We are also looking to improve the accessibility and equipment across the building and in our meeting rooms, and this technology is already available to try in corporate meeting room 1 and 5.1
We'll also be running a trial of 'village working' with our Customer Business Services colleagues. This will involve the team having a dedicated space, on 2nd floor north, with less desks and being responsible for maximising the use of this area as a team.
The work also contributes to one of our savings workstreams, to address our financial challenge, and includes a review of all council properties and making the necessary changes and improvements to our office space to facilitate the different types of hybrid-working that you agreed with your teams over the summer.
You told us that moving forward you wanted our office space to be team focussed, promoting a creative and collaborative culture, with a balance of office space, quiet space, private and confidential space and bookable desks and meeting rooms.
What this looks like will be guided by what you have told us and informed by your feedback, so please take part in the upcoming pilots, and take the time to tell us what you think works, what doesn't and what you would like to see more of. We'll be back in touch with more information about the pilots and how you can get involved shortly.
