Welcome to Your Vote week 2023
Encouraging young people to register to vote
As part of Welcome to Your Vote week, young people aged 14-18 are being encouraged to learn more about politics and democracy - and, importantly, to register to vote ahead of future elections.
Young people in Scotland can register to vote from 14 to ensure they are ready to vote in Scottish Parliament and local council elections from the age of 16.
If you're a parent or carer, or work with young people this age, then please encourage them to register to vote so they can have their say on issues that affect them when the next election comes round.
Visit the webpage to find helpful voting information for young people.
