They have undertaken a Second Review of Scottish Parliament boundaries and are consulting on provisional proposals for constituencies

The proposed changes to Renfrewshire's three constituencies include:

Paisley and Renfrew (Burgh Constituency)

  • New name, new boundary
  • Previously known as Paisley Constituency
  • Increase in electorate from 55,866 to 63,856
  • Renfrew moves from the former Renfrewshire North and West Constituency

Renfrewshire South (County Constituency)

  • New boundary
  • Increase in electorate from 52,886 to 61,996
  • Johnstone, with the exception of Milliken Park, and Elderslie move to the renamed Renfrewshire West Constituency. A larger area of East Renfrewshire, extending to Newton Mearns and Eaglesham has been  incorporated into the Renfrewshire South constituency.

Renfrewshire West (County Constituency)

  • New name, new boundary
  • Previously known as Renfrewshire North and West Constituency
  • Increase in electorate from 55,866 to 63,856
